Paul has over 25 years of experience in the life insurance industry.
Prior to establishing LifeRisk in 2002, Paul was Senior Legal Counsel for Risk & Litigation with AXA, where he was responsible for advising on all aspects of the risk business, including claims and underwriting teams, conducting and managing litigation, and managing dispute resolution. He has had extensive involvement in product reviews and policy wording.
In his role as Principal of LifeRisk, Paul provides legal and claims advice to life insurers across the industry. He has expert knowledge in all issues that arise in the context of life insurance claims. His extensive experience in dispute resolution (AFCA, previously FOS and the SCT) and litigation informs Paul’s practical and commercial approach to issues that arise for Life Insurers.
Paul works with claims, underwriting, dispute resolution and legal teams, as well as reinsurers. He has experience as chairperson for internal claims review committees.
Most recently, Paul has worked on the ASIC Claims Assurance Review for a number of insurers, as well as a number of claims-related projects aimed at improving the capability of claims teams.
Paul is sought after as a presenter at industry seminars and conferences. Paul is a qualified educator who has enviable experience designing and delivering training sessions precisely tailored to meet his client’s needs.
Paul is a longstanding and respected member of the life insurance industry.
